join our team to Bring the Future!Job PurposeThe ADAS Design Senior
Engineer is expected to support technology development and lead
integration of ADAS hardware components/systems (to include but not
limited to: monocular and multiview cameras, milliwave and blind
spot radar, parking sensors, SRS unit/sensors, and information
management gateway) while also possessing the knowledge and
leadership skills to coach junior designers and lead cross
functional/organizational discussions. -The associate will
coordinate/perform a full range of design/development activities
relevant to departmental and organizational needs while correlating
with 4MOC/SDM counterparts, international engineering teams as well
as external vendors and customers all while assuming PIC
responsibility for assigned parts within a development
project(s).Key Accountabilities
- Produce 3D designs, 2D layouts, and drawings of automotive
electrical components from initial concept through mass production.
Components may include vision systems and radar for automotive
driving, sensors for safety systems and related hardware. -
- Evaluate feasibility, layout checks, cost/wt/inv, and
maintenance requirements of designs and/or applications.
- Thorough understanding of current design guides and propose new
design guides to Technical Management, as necessary
- Manage development projects/schedules, coordinate with
corollary departments/suppliers and research new technologies and
market trends
- Writing and presenting technical reportsQualifications,
Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor's of Science in Electrical or Mechanical
Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant design experience preferred
- Basic proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 (preferred)
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to cultivate and manage relationships of varying levels
in/out of the organization, including supplier
- Strong customer service focus and mindset
- Strong project organization and management capability
- Ability to acclimate to new environments, negotiate through
unknowns and meet new people
- Ability to manage time effectively and productively
- Solid quantitative/analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Computer skills, such as PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Word,
CATIA, CAE, etc.
- Strong decision-making skills, able to make sound decisions on
complex matters
- Effective negotiation ability
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Strong global dexterity and ability to adapt to cultural
differences
- Ability to design for assembly
- Strong tolerance study and calculation capability
- Acute attention to detailWorking Conditions
- Commitment to work necessary work hours to achieve all
responsibilities, including overtime and operating periodically at
early and late day hours
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
- Kneeling, bending, sitting, standing, and maneuvering inside of
vehicles is required
- Travel is sometimes required - -5% (International travel may be
requested)
- Office work is split between on-site and remote (Work from
Home, WFH)
- Vehicle-level testing is conducted either on-site in a
specified lab or offsite at a supplier/contracted facility
