ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR PURCHASING MANAGER:* Responsible to ensure raw material supply and cost objectives are met or exceeded by establishing and controlling raw material inventories. * Investigate variances from planned targets and establish their root cause. Formulate and implement corrective actions where needed.* Purchasing manager collaborates with managers and peers to fulfill internal and external customer requirements.* Meets regularly with manufacturing and sales personnel to provide supply chain perspective when developing customer proposals. * Facilitates efficient production schedule.* Review supplier performance and product quality.* Identify and address supply chain risk by assessing vendor capabilities and supplier performance for impact on the company. * Ensures alternative sourcing in critical areas to mitigate risk and reduce cost.* Follows Work Instructions, procedures, and company policies, including safety procedures and quality systems requirements. EXPERIENCE FOR PURCHASING MANAGER:
1. Experience or education equal to ten years experience.2. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and employees in a professional manner.3. Able to read, write, and comprehend written and oral instructions.4. Strong computer skills including Excel and Word and MRP.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PURCHASING MANAGER:1. Ability to sit for long periods of time.2. Ability to maneuver production facility.3. Ability to operate various office equipment including phones, copier, computer and fax machine.
