TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Bellefontaine, Ohio, 43311 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L&D) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required; Postpartum and nursery experience required License: Active OH or compact license required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), NRP, BLS (AHA) (Must be current and through AHA) Must-Have: - BSN degree preferred - If vaccinated for COVID-19, provide vaccination card - Full profile, resume, and skills checklist within 1 year Job Description: - Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and reassessments as needed. - Assess and manage pain, utilizing appropriate methods and educating patients and families. - Develop and adjust care plans based on patient responses, evaluating daily effectiveness. - Provide care considering age-specific needs and demonstrate understanding of growth and development principles. - Administer medications correctly, understanding their impact based on patient age and condition. - Follow the five rights of medication administration to minimize errors. - Create and assess teaching plans to meet patient and family learning needs. - Perform technical and manual skills within the scope of RN licensure. - Treat patients and families with respect and dignity, addressing their diverse needs. - Serve as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and healthcare providers. - Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. - Maintain a safe environment to minimize medical errors. - Consult with other departments as needed for an interdisciplinary approach to care. - Ensure all documentation meets current standards and policies. - Manage and operate equipment safely. - Supervise patient care and maintain annual competencies, including bedside blood glucose testing. - Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and the ability to handle stressful situations.
