Job Description:
Summary This National Guard position is for a ARTILLERY REPAIRER
LEADER, Position Description Number D1265000 and is part of the OH
G4 SMO CSMS, Ohio Army National Guard. The purpose of this position
is to serve as a working leader of three or more Artillery
Repairers, WG-6605-10. Performs maintenance, repair, and
inspections on the electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
on armored vehicle turrets. Responsibilities As a ARTILLERY
REPAIRER LEADER, WL-6605-10, you will perform the following duties:
1. Assigns work orders to specific crewmembers and selects workers
for various jobs on the basis of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Passes on to workers instructions received from the supervisor,
demonstrates proper work methods, and starts work. Insures that
needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available, and
that needed stock is obtained from supply locations. Works along
with other workers and sets pace performing non-supervisory repair
work of the same kind and level as that done by the group led. 2.
Assures that there is enough work to keep everyone in the work crew
busy. Checks work in progress and when finished for compliance with
supervisor's instructions, work orders, and established shop
procedures on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines; and
directs or advises other workers to follow supervisor's
instructions and to meet deadlines. Answers workers' questions
regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other
directives. Interprets work instructions and assists lower graded
repairers or trainees in the more difficult and complex tasks.
Provides information to the supervisor on status and progress of
work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems.
Assures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed. 3.
Performs maintenance on the electrical system of turrets, mortars,
and artillery. Repairs the stabilization control systems, circuit
breakers, distribution boxes, cables, and wiring system, points and
all other electrical components in the turret. Replaces Line
Replaceable Units (LRUs). 4. Tests and repairs electrical test sets
that are used to test the electrical systems of the tank turrets,
mortars, and artillery. Follows schematic diagrams and relays to
determine if there is malfunction in the test equipment. 5.
Performs other duties as assigned. The above duty description does

Requirements Conditions of Employment Ohio Army National Guard
Membership is required. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be
registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as
determined by a background investigation. May be required to
successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in
direct deposit is mandatory. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible
military grade and assignment required within one year of the
effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position
that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the
employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently
a member of the Ohio Army National Guard must be eligible for

through WO1 (to include WOCs) Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to perform
mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system operations.
Experience demonstrating the ability to fit and adjust parts and
assemblies SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman
level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan,
organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related
the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the
ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret
a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported
equipment. The ability to provide guidance to others in work
related directly to this occupational series. Education Additional
Information If serving under an incentive contract, termination of
that incentive(s) will occur effective one day prior to your AGR,
Permanent Military Technician, or Indefinite Military Technician
start date. Temporary Military Technicians will have their
incentive terminated if their tour exceeds 179 days in a continuous
