position requiring the Computerized Tomography Technologist to
produce quality diagnostic images on patients of all ages using the
CT scanner and associated equipment for imaging and image
manipulation. Tasks are performed with minimal supervision and with
strict adherence to quality parameters as determined by the
department. Technologists independently perform or assist the
licensed independent practitioner in the completion of radiographic
procedures. Technologists prepare, administer, and document
activities related to contrast media and medications in accordance
with state and federal regulations or institutional policy.
Technologists educate patients and their parents regarding
procedures performed and safety within the CT department.
Technologists are responsible in part for performance of the
organization's systems and processes while continuing to recognize
the importance of the individual competence of staff. Technologists
are responsible for maintaining CPR certification, Ohio Licensure,
and ARRT registration, in addition to participation in hospital
wide mandatory education. The CT technologist recognizes and
advocates for each patient being an individual with unique
healthcare needs and provides considerate, respectful care
affirming the patient's right to make decisions regarding their
medical care. The CT technologist works with radiology staff and
other departments to provide a smooth continuum of care for
individual patients. Works with student technologists to assure a
positive learning experience while on clinical rotations at the
hospital.
Department Specific Job Details:
$5,000 Sign on Bonus available
Second hours (-13:00 - 21:30) and one weekend day, every third week
(07:00-19:00) plus backup call rotation to cover call offs).
Education: HSD/GED is required: Associate's degree required, ODH
x-ray license and ARRT registry in Radiography required; CT
Registry preferred. 1-3 years of experience desired; 3-5 years or
more of experience highly preferred. Must be willing to perform
general x-ray (static radiography, mobile radiography, trauma
response in a Pediatric Level One Trauma Center primarily) when CT
is not actively performing care or other duties delegated by
CT/X-ray Supervisor or department manager.
Certification/Licensure:
Radiologic License - Ohio Department of Health is required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography
is required
Advanced registry with ARRT in Computed Tomography preferred
CPR is required
