.RayzeBio is a dynamic biotechnology company headquartered in San
Diego, CA. Launched in late 2020 and recently acquired by Bristol
Myers Squibb (BMS) as a wholly owned subsidiary, the company is
focused on improving the survival of people with cancer by
harnessing the power of targeted radioisotopes. RayzeBio will
operate as a standalone entity within the BMS organization,
maintaining its biotech culture with the opportunity to leverage
the best-in-class oncology capabilities of BMS. RayzeBio is
developing innovative drugs against targets of solid tumors. The
lead asset, RYZ101, is in Phase 3 testing for patients with
gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) and earlier
stage testing for patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Our
GPC3 molecule is currently in IND-enabling studies, to be evaluated
in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Led by a successful and
experienced entrepreneurial team, RayzeBio aims to be the global
leader in radiopharmaceuticals.Summary:The Radiochemist will be
responsible for taking a lead technical role in both radiochemical
and analytical methods for the drug product and isotope programs at
RayzeBio. The Radiochemist's role will be to identify challenges
and to develop solutions to technical problems in radiochemical and
analytical QC testing related to RayzeBio's isotope supply and drug
product pipeline. The areas of focus will include ion exchange
chromatography, radiometal synthesis, and analytical QC testing.
The radiochemist will also be expected to provide leadership to the
radiochemistry team in establishing and maintaining proper
organizational and safety culture within the laboratory.Job
Responsibilities:Essential duties and responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership on radiochemical and
analytical methodologies.
- Support the technical transfer of radiochemical methods from
other RayzeBio and third-party sites to the Indianapolis
facility.
- Manage third-party vendors in support of analytical and
laboratory equipment.
- Draft GMP documentation including but not limited to SOP's,
forms, and reports.
- Support activities related to hot cells, gloveboxes, and
production cleanrooms.
- Ensure compliance with NRC, EH&S and US/EU GMP regulatory
guidelines as required.
- Less than 5% of travel required Basic Qualifications:
- MS with 5+ years of experience in Radiochemistry or other
scientific equivalent work experience OR PhD 3+ years of experience
in Radiochemistry or other scientific equivalent work
experience.
- Experience with wet radiochemistry and/or ion-exchange column
separations
- Experience with analytical methods (gamma spec, alpha spec,
ICP-MS, ICP-OES, Radio-TLC, HPLC, etc.)
- Experience working with radioactive materials, alpha emitters
highly desirable.
- Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to
maintain confidential informationPreferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working with radioactive materials.
Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms,
and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move
up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision and distance vision. This is a position that
requires working in a laboratory environment, protective clothing,
gloves, and safety glasses are required while working in a
