Job Description:
GENERAL FUNCTION: Lead fiduciary decision
making for an Investment Management & Trust (IM&T) region of
the bank. Assist in driving consistent fiduciary behavior within
the IM&T book of business and ensuring compliance with
regulatory and legal guidelines. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Lead fiduciary
decision-making for an IM&T region of the bank by: o Acting as
a voting Member and Secretary of the respective Regional Private
Bank Committee. o Representing the region on the PB IM&T
Committee. o Providing document interpretation. o Providing
fiduciary consulting to local trust officers within the region. o
Representing the region''s opinion in national projects, policy
changes and product discussions. * Assist in driving consistent
fiduciary behavior within the IM&T book of business by: o
Facilitating document interpretation and consistent decision-making
across all regions by working with other Regional Fiduciary
Executives and Private Bank Legal Counsel. o Working with product
management, risk, compliance, and training to ensure all affiliates
have a consistent understanding. o Interpreting policies and
procedures, regulations and documents consistently by participating
in regular meetings with the other Regional Fiduciary Executives
and Private Bank Legal Counsel. o Assisting local IM&T offices
in resolving compliance, audit and regulatory exceptions. o
Executing strategic and tactical programs to address and resolve
current issues and evolving risks and other exposures to the
Bancorp in partnership with other Regional Fiduciary Executives. *
Help manage risk and legal work load by partnering with Private
Bank Legal Counsel and risk when threats are made or lawsuits
filed. * Maintain a working knowledge of the appropriate laws,
regulations, Private Bank policy and procedures, and Fifth Third
Bancorp policies. * Provide leadership in developing
recommendations and action plans to eliminate or mitigate observed
risks. * Understand the organizational structure, key management
personnel, and primary objectives of the IM&T business of Fifth
Third Bank. * Become aware of the issues and concerns of outside
regulatory bodies, business line self-assessments, and Internal
Audit, and their impact on the business line. * Develop and
maintain knowledge on existing and emerging issues within the
IM&T industry and apply this knowledge for the benefit of the
Bancorp. * Partner with business line personnel to champion the
implementation of initiatives in products and policies, including
the participation in training of IM&T personnel. * Determine
process gaps/variations that could lead to opportunities to improve
controls, reduce costs, or enhance customer service. * Establish,
foster, and maintain working relationships with peers and line
management within the business unit to support an effective
workflow and continuous improvement ethic. * Develop working
relationships with Senior Management and business line personnel as
appropriate. * Personally initiate formal and informal
communication at appropriate levels across the Bancorp. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
