Wallick Communities is searching for a Sr. Maintenance Technician to join the team supporting the Sawyer Manor and Trevitt Heights apartments in Columbus, Ohio.



The pay range for this position is $25 - $28 per hour.

      The work - How you will contribute: In accordance with the Wallick Mission and Values, The Sr. Maintenance Technician will complete specific maintenance functions in a timely manner as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Community Manager, taking care to ensure our residents needs are met and comfortable homes maintained to the highest standards.



      Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

      • Execute various site maintenance projects and unit turns as directed by leadership.
      • Responsible for the timely completion of work orders within the community.
      • Responsible for emergency maintenance response within the community which include on-call rotation.
      • Maintain specific levels of certification as required for the position.
      • Responsible for maintaining the communities to Company standards.
      • Training and mentoring other less experienced maintenance staff.
      • Assist with capital needs bidding.
      • Assist with Reac readiness.
      • Perform other related duties as assigned.




        About You:

        • You have 3 or more years of experience in maintenance or a related field, preferably in residential housing.
        • You have strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing systems. Certifications are a plus.
        • You have basic knowledge of applicable law governing residential housing strongly preferred.
        • You can use complex tools and equipment, such as welding equipment and heavy machinery.
        • You are proficient with basic computer skills and smart phone.
        • You have knowledge of Reac requirements.
        • You have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
        • You have strong communication and customer service skills.
        • You have the experience and ability to lead and train other staff members.
        • You have a Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.




          Physical Demands: Position requires extensive walking, stooping/bending, balancing, kneeling, squatting, and climbing. Requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. Requires talking, seeing, and hearing with reasonable accommodation.



          Work Environment: Travel between communities within the district may be required, depending on need. Position requires work to be performed indoors and outside. Indoor working conditions are often inside a residence within the community, a communal area, or in the designated maintenance shop area. Outside work is throughout the community grounds and outdoor communal areas.
